Think Tanks on Brexit and Article 50

Below, we had already highlighted how Find Policy can help you find the latest think tank analysis. This can be of particular interest in moments such as now, when think tank analysis can be useful to understand scenarios that follow on the United Kingdom's EU referendum.

What do prominent commentators say on key topics?

Sometimes you want to look up information that’s not classical think tank research (quite yet), but may still relate to public policy. Say you want a broader take on cycling in cities. Think tanks go deep, but sometimes you want people to go fast, or broad.

The outlets we cover, in random order: Washington Monthly, Vox (including Ezra Klein, Matt Yglesias), Andrew Sullivan, New Republic, Kevin Drum/Mother Jones, Atlantic Monthly, Tyler Cowen, The American Interest, Slate, Jonathan Chait/NY Magazine, Brad De Long, FiveThirtyEight and the New America Foundation. The search page also covers the outlets which Matt Yglesias and Ezra Klein previously wrote for.

Brexit - What Do Leading Think Tanks Say?

What do the world's leading think tanks say about Brexit? Our Foreign Policy search page allows you to check, in a single go.

As always, if you want more detailed results, refine your search terms (economy, foreign policy, trade).

But what about British think tanks? Tucked away behind More Search we can also look at UK research.

Again, toggling and narrowing down of search terms can be useful.

Adding Institutions: ECFR & IWP Ukraine

We have just added two institutions to respective search pages: the European Council of Foreign Relations to Foreign Policy, and the Institute of World Policy (Kyiv) to Ukraine. 

Further suggestions on which institutions to add? Let us know (Twitter is easiest). We are also happy if anyone wants to contribute to let even more people know about Find Policy. We have moderate user numbers so far. We keep this thing running, because we find it ultra-useful in accessing think tank research for our own purposes. So input always welcome.

Agricultural Insurance in Developing Contexts

Given that we don't post very often, people who come to this page may have rightly concluded that we have lots of other things going on. Indeed. But we are, in fact, using Find Policy all the time for our own purposes. Right now we are working on an awareness campaign regarding agricultural insurance. So we need to understand what works in that field, and what doesn't. We don't want to reinvent the wheel, and when talking to the relevant government agency, we need to have a thorough understanding of the issue.

In such meetings it's beyond our control whether we are the smartest people in the room, and it's not our ambition in the first place. But it IS our ambition to be the best prepared people in the room, the ones that have done their homework.
